YEDITEPE UNIVERSITY

Yeditepe University was established in 1996 in Istanbul, Turkey by the Istanbul Education and Cultural Foundation (ISTEK). The university is accredited by the Turkish Higher Council of Education (YÖK). The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ISTEK Foundation and Yeditepe University is Bedrettin Dalan. 

   The mission of Yeditepe University is to educate students as enlightened individuals, fully capable of dealing with the demands of the modern world, culturally rounded with technological skills and dedicated to the ideas of secularism, progress and creativity inspired by Atatürk’s principles. The university’s vision is to become one of the most competitive universities in Turkey and expand its horizones to the rest of the world as fast as possible. 

   In 2000, Yeditepe University moved to its beautiful new campus at the foot of Kayışdağı, a central location on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, overlooking the city and the Marmara Sea. The campus with its original buildings and architecture of the centuries old Seljuk style, has all the facilities needed for contemporary high-quality university education. 

   Yeditepe University is acclaimed for its comprehensive and innovative curriculum, exciting student campus life, sport activities, and diverse and evolving culture. Social activities are also organized through a large number of student clubs. The university provides the needed social and cultural environment for a rich student life outside the classroom. 

   The scope of education is fairly broad. The university offers a variety of majors leading to 62 Bachelors, 45 Masters, and 15 Doctoral ( Ph. D.) degrees. The university also offers students the opportunity for double majors and minors in addition to their degree programs. The medium of the education is English. All of the academic programs are offered in English. 

   Yeditepe University is eager to become one of the most internationally oriented and recognized Universities in Turkey and in the world. The university has already signed many cooperation and partnership protocols with prominent U.S and European universities and also developed several “Dual Diploma Degree Programs” with U.S universities. With its growing international student body from over 25 countries, variety of academic programs and quality of education, Yeditepe University aims to perpetuate its phenomenal success.
